Foundational Nextflow training for NHS GLH bioinformaticians

September 24 | 1-5 PM (BST)

Online via Zoom

Seqera (the creators of Nextflow) will provide foundational Nextflow training for NHS GLH bioinformaticians. This four-hour session will introduce the basic concepts of Nextflow as a workflow management tool using practical, hands-on examples. It will also cover running a simple Nextflow pipeline from a local environment to cloud-based execution on GCP via the Seqera Platform.

Prerequisites

This workshop requires participants to have a basic knowledge of Linux shell programming.

We will be running the training with Gitpod, which provides an integrated development environment directly within a web browser (preferably Google Chrome). The workshop material will be available within the Gitpod workspace. Please create and check that you can log in to your Gitpod account prior to the start of the training by following the instructions here

In addition, you will need to create a free Seqera Cloud account prior to the training to run a Nextflow pipeline in a cloud environment. Please create this here: https://cloud.seqera.io/login.
