About the role
Seqera is a company full of people who know the value of good design. We're looking for a Product Designer with a proven track record of designing delightful experiences for technical users. You'll work across Seqera Platform and AI — identifying new opportunities, designing concepts, defining and communicating a vision, developing prototypes, and building toward our product goals.
While this position reports to the VP of Product, you'll collaborate across the company with colleagues in Design, Product, and Engineering. You'll join a growing design team with the opportunity to shape our design system, influence product strategy, and grow your career alongside a team that's tackling some of the most complex UX challenges in enterprise bioinformatics.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving hard problems for technical users, operates well in ambiguity, and is hungry to build great products in a fast-paced startup environment.
What You'll Do
Craft beautiful, polished, and delightful interfaces that build trust, enable bioinformaticians, and showcase the power of Seqera and Nextflow
Work across modern design tools and code while collaborating with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
Contribute to and help define our design system and broader design strategy.
Find creative ways to ship high-quality work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Define feature areas with excellent attention to detail and polish, identifying opportunities to improve quality and consistency of broader flows.
Contribute to the strategic direction of our products, rooted in deep user empathy and understanding of our platform.
Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
About you
4+ years of professional experience as a Product Designer or equivalent role.
Strong portfolio showcasing user-centric design thinking and polished UI craftsmanship for technical or developer-facing products.
Proven track record of exploring and executing end-to-end on large, complex products.
Demonstrated ability to design prototype with code and collaborate technically with engineering
Excellent collaboration and communication skills — you work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
Intellectual curiosity — you enjoy solving hard problems and understanding the "why" behind the right answer.
Nice to have:
Experience as a developer or designing for developers.
An eye for high-quality, well-crafted visual and interaction design, and a passion for UI details.
A knack for figuring out ambiguous problems and shaping them into clear goals.
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and prioritize work effectively.
Experience with Scientific Research beyond a high school level
