About the role

We are seeking a Platform Engineer for our “Platform Infrastructure” team to accommodate the rapid expansion of our Engineering function. As a Platform Engineer, you will be instrumental in not only shaping our infrastructure but also defining the future engineering practices within the company. The ideal candidate is passionate about addressing a wide range of technical and operational challenges. We are committed to building a process where we can deliver high-quality products and iterate fast, which requires us to develop solid engineering practices that include end-to-end testing, observability frameworks, deployment standards, automation, and operational excellence processes.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure primarily on AWS.

• Empower engineering teams by developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment, testing, and release processes.

• Build and maintain a network of contacts in internal stakeholder teams to better understand their needs and to facilitate collaboration.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and related tools.

• Enable our software engineers to independently develop, release and maintain software via close collaboration with and education of the engineering team.

• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the reliability and performance of our applications and services.

• Design and implement new tools and technologies to help improve efficiency, scalability, and security.

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in production and non-production environments.

• Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

About you

• You're an infrastructure engineer with experience developing robust and scalable solutions. You're passionate about solving real-world problems with proven technologies and building elegant, scalable systems.

• You are an expert when it comes to Infrastructure As Code, CI/CD, and other modern tooling to accelerate engineering processes. You’re proficient in tooling for these (such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) and have experience working with them in an enterprise setting.

• You are comfortable with ambiguity - you’re able to quickly develop hypotheses with limited information and have a demonstrated ability to learn complex concepts quickly. You drive tasks independently, while proactively reaching out for help and additional resources when needed to keep yourself unblocked.

• You have built strong foundational knowledge in cloud infrastructure engineering with experience adhering to industry best practices and are confident implementing security measures to protect data integrity and prevent vulnerabilities.

• You have experience in identifying and responding to complex incidents, including issues that may relate to customer infrastructure.

• Comfortable communicating with technical teams and leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

Nice to have:

• Product development life cycle and tools that allow engineers to build cool stuff faster and more easily.

• Experience assisting engineers in solving production incidents, and providing guidance during postmortems.

• Experience in cloud security across multiple clouds including AWS, GCP, Azure, and private or on-prem/HPC solutions
