Seqera exists to advance science for everyone through software
We provide software for scientists solving today's most complex and important challenges from pioneering innovative therapeutics to unveiling the secrets of our universe. The journey began a decade ago with Nextflow — open software that helps over 100,000 global scientists analyze and process data, with more power and flexibility than ever before.
Today, Seqera consolidates fragmented data and diverse computing resources into a unified platform. Our modern biotech stack is trusted by over 150 leading life sciences organizations. Empowered with modern software engineering, organizations conduct science faster, on larger datasets, and with more confidence. Seqera accelerates discoveries in an open world.

About the role
Seqera is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our team. At its core, Seqera is a tool for scientists where interactions and small details matter. We expect a broad set of design skills and the ability to create high-quality designs, interactions, and prototypes.
Seqera is a company full of people who know the value of good design. We’re looking for a designer who has a proven track record of working with cutting edge technologies to design delightful experiences. In this role, this person would be helping to identify new opportunities, designing concepts, defining and communicating a vision, developing prototypes, and helping build towards our vision.
While this position reports to the Design Director, you’ll end up collaborating across the company including folks from the Design, Product, and Engineering organizations.
What You'll Do
Craft beautiful, polished, and delightful user interfaces that build trust, enable bioinformaticians, and showcase the power of our technology
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define product vision, strategy and roadmaps
Define feature areas with excellent attention to detail and polish, identifying opportunities to improve quality and consistency of broader flows
Contribute to the strategic direction of our products, rooted in deep user empathy and understanding of our products
Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals
Design and ship high-quality product improvements
Find creative ways to ship high-quality work in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, resource-constrained startup environment
About you
Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in a related field
Proven experience working 6+ years as a Product Designer or similar role
Strong portfolio showcasing user-centric design thinking and polished UI craftsmanship
Proven track record of exploring and executing end-to-end on large and complex products
Demonstrated ability to design simple solutions to complex user problems
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence without authority
Experience handling complex projects with overlapping organizational lines
Proficiency in prototyping your ideas (whether in Figma, Origami, code, or another tool) to help articulate nuanced design decisions
Intellectual curiosity – an enjoyment of solving hard problems and understanding the ‘why’ in addition to the right answer
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have:
Experience as a developer or designing for developers
An eye for high-quality, well-crafted visual and interaction design, and a passion for UI details
A knack for figuring out ambiguous problems and shaping them into clear goals
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and prioritize work effectively
Experience mentoring junior or early career designers
