About the role

Are you looking to pivot into a field that's literally redefining our understanding of life as we know it through the intersection of technology and life sciences? If so, your search ends here!

As we expand the Seqera Platform, our flagship Enterprise SaaS, we’re looking for a highly technical Product Manager who’ll be responsible for defining and managing the expansion and scaling-up of our SaaS infrastructure while creating great developer experiences across our API, CLI, and SDK. We’re looking for someone with a deep understanding of CI/CD processes, programmatic interface  development, compliance, reliability, scalability, and security standards.

In close collaboration with our DevOps and Security engineering teams, you'll determine the infrastructure changes we need and how to expand our API, CLI and SDK offerings to ensure a smooth and reliable developer experience for our diverse user base of bioinformaticians and cloud architects. Your role will encompass analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of our platform, providing business and customer context to technical discussions as we evolve our architecture and installation protocols, define and deliver programmatic interfaces/installation experiences that are powerful yet simple to use and support, and prioritize our technical debt backlog. While this position reports to the Product team, you’ll end up collaborating closely with both our Engineering and Customer Success organizations.

We're seeking a talented individual who excels in dynamic environments, relishes new challenges, and is deeply committed to helping engineers do their best work with amazing tooling.

Note: We have only 1 job vacancy, and we're open to hiring you in New York (US), London (UK) or Barcelona (Spain)

What You'll Do

  • Research how our customers are currently using our API/CLI/SDK interfaces, bringing user context to technical discussions and determination of roadmap priorities.

  • Research how our Enterprise customers are currently deploying our SaaS, what the existing and potential future challenges may be as we scale our offerings, and how to resolve those challenges while meeting our strategic goals.

  • Negotiate competing priorities between leadership, engineering, and various customer groups.

  • Collaborate with our Engineering team to determine resource requirements, knowledge gaps, and delivery timelines to maintain our rapid pace of growth and customer satisfaction.

  • Define and own key performance indicators for your responsible components.

About you

  • 4+ years Product Management experience specifically related to infrastructure and API development for Enterprise SaaS.

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills, product management skills, excellent communication skills, and a clear understanding of how software engineers build, manage and deploy their infrastructure and applications.

  • Ability to influence people across the organization, from technical leadership to business managers, by creating win-win solutions, and the desire to be an individual contributor to support Seqera's flagship platform.

  • Manage competing needs of multiple internal and external customer groups and create certainty out of ambiguity while having a firm grasp over the operational and technical aspects of the platform infrastructure and security.

  • Prior experience using product/project management SaaS for overseeing the software development lifecycle (e.g. JIRA, Asana, Trello, Github)

  • Expertise with public cloud platforms, with advanced skills in at least one of the following: AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, natural sciences, or a related field.

  • Prior experience building web services using Java, Python, Go, or C#

  • Prior experience using Git

  • Exposure to hybrid cloud/on-prem environments and High Performance Compute (HPC)

  • Prior experience with bioinformatics or biotechnology.

  • Current public cloud platform certification
